Jaanu this is first post. Today is 5th June and it was your first day at school. Before i pen down how your first day at school went, i would like to appreciate how well you adapted to the sudden shift from USA to India. We reached India on April 20th and apart from a small jet lag, you didn have much problem adapting to the land where you were born.
Getting a seat fo you in Bangalore, wasn't easy. Susha (my sister) and i litterally ran from one school to another. You of course accompanied us everywhere, and you've been a doll. You didn throw tantrums, i remember when i was standing in the long queues in Baldwins, you very patiently were talking to the tree. Susha was beside you frantically trying to reach your dad. After getting a rejection speech at Baldwins we went to Cathedral High. You were sleeping in the auto. I carried you the school and the staff there asked us to meet the principal. Continuouslly fo 4 days we came to the school and the Principal wasn't there. Finally i decided that you will be admitted to Cambridge school in HSR Layout, we even went and met the Principal and had only to pay the fees. On Susha's insistance that Cathedral was one of the best schools in Bangalore and we should give it a last try, i came back to Cathedral. And wallah the Principal was there. He met us, your dad and i got scared of him. His baritone voice had that effect on us. Finally you were admitted into Cathedral High.

Your school was to start at 9.30am as it was the first day. Otherwise it would begin at 8.30am. I set the alarm for 7.30am. I am not a morning person sweety, and i was worried if i would be able to take you to school in time. And this fear kept me awake all through the night. Finally i got up at 7am and when i woke you, my sleepy head said "please don't disturb me, i want to sleep". Then after litterally threatening you that i won't take you to school you woke up. once you were up i got you all dressed. More than you Vishu was excited. i made a dosa for you and you ate it. Then you went to Sanjana's house and her granpa blessed you. Appa said he coudn't come to school as he had some important work. We set out to your school, the auto driver took us in the wrong direction as he got confused. We were stuck in traffic till 9.05am. Finally we made it to school. You were the only student who wore uniform that day. As soon as you saw the playground you said, i will go to the class later first i shall play. I convinced you that you teacher will take you to the playground.
Then we met your Van driver, Nagaraj. I remember the van driver asking you "Yennamma nimma ammanige gothillwa evathu color dress antha" (what dear doesn't your mom know that ur supposed to wear color dress). I checked the board and you belonged to section 'D' and to 'whistance' house. I took you to section D the teacher asked me to wait till the names of students would be called. Finally your name was called and you went in, without even looking back. I remember a boy crying loudly and he sat next to you. you were looking at him and then me. I smiled and you shook your head. After a while your class began.
At 11.15am, i came to pick you up. I went to pick your house T-shirt. After waiting for an one hour i got the purple T-shirt. When i came to pick you, i saw you displaying your pencil box to a fellow classmate. I had to meet to your class teacher and she gave me your temporary badge. In return she asked you to smile, and you gave the cheesiest smile. once out of the class you wanted to go to the playground, i was too tired and wanted to return home. You were very angry and put on a long face. Once in athe auto i asked you what happened in the school and your reply was "you didn take me to the play ground, so i wont tell you anything?". Trust me i was furious. First day and my dotty speaks like this. I called ur dad and all he did was laugh. Once we reached home you told me that your teacher made you clap hands. Then you had to sing Twinkle Twinkle and Ba Ba black sheep. All were given chocolates too.
